Karolyn Timarkos (Kaz) has been building websites since 1995. She set up Code Monkey after phoning around for quotes to build a commercial website, and being horrified at the prices website designers were charging, prices that most small to medium enterprises could not hope to meet.

Kaz holds a New Zealand Diploma in Business, for which she received the Fletcher Challenge Award for Top New Zealand Diploma in Business Marketing Graduate from the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, and a Bachelor of Tourism Management from the University of Waikato.

Code Monkey sponsors the website for Bookrapt, and for four years sponsored the websites for The Living Art Wildlife Park and the Tauranga Environment Centre, as well as setting up the original websites for the Animal Rescue and Rehabiliation Centre and the Te Puna Quarry Park.
